The Children

At Capel Sounds Educational Child Care Centre the children are always our first priority. We believe that children learn best through play and when secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships are formed. Each and every child has their own culture, history and beliefs systems and this is what makes them unique. We place high value in each child's individuality and embrace this throughout our programs and the entire centre.

We honour the children's right to make choices throughout the day and respect children as capable and involved learners.

At Capel Sounds we aim to make a lasting impact on a child's education, care and life. It is our privilege to educate your child and we take this honour seriously.

The Curriculum

Our curriculum is founded upon the individual needs and expertise of each and every child. At Capel Sounds, a play based curriculum is delivered with a range of theorists forming the basis of our teaching strategies and delivery. Learning data is collected in a range of meaningful ways, then a month long program is implemented by our educated and talented senior educators. This program is designed so that intentional and spontaneous learning developing throughout the child's day.

We are committed to full participation of children with additional needs and resources are rich and plentiful and ensure access and participation by every child. We provide opportunities for safe, managed risk taking, and all children are supported and encouraged to challenge and extend themselves.

The Environment

Quality education and care goes hand in hand with its environment. When the environment allows for learning to naturally evolve and is intentionally created for the children's interest and needs, we are able to connect with the children and their learning is a holistic way.

At Capel sounds we provide three large natural outdoor play spaces, five classrooms and a range specialist programs. We aim to offer each family a unique experience to early childhood care and education. We believe that children embrace the importance of their natural outdoor environment and develop strong connections to country- As when you connect to country, you connect to community. Our team provides a valuable indoor/outdoor program where children are able to engage with these environments both naturally and intentionally.
