NAIDOC Week Activities

The whole centre has been busy this week - sharing play and learning on this years NAIDOC theme of Keep The Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud.

We learned about fire and that it represents the enduring strength and vitality of Indigenous cultures. It is a symbol of connection to land, to each other and to the rich tapestry of traditions that define Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The children made paper torches, the Kinder class had a real fire and made damper and toasted marshmallows. We even explored bushfood growing along the foreshore.
